AMD's latest CPU codename Zen has been teased for quite some time now. The new CPU is said to shake the very core of the CPU market.
Ryzen was unveiled earlier this week by AMD in an event called New Horizon and is said to be the next level of processor. Ryzen is an 8-core 16 thread design using simultaneous multi-threading and is said to have more than 90 percent instructions per clock improvement. Ryzen will have base clock speeds of 3.4 GHZ or higher and will come with boost mode and has 20 MB L2 + L3 cache which uses the new AM4 motherboard ecosystem. AMD's Ryzen includes five new features called AMD SenseMI Technology which enable AMD's Ryzen to sense and adapt to its environment enabling the processor to learn as it performs.
Ryzen's SenseMI Technology is composed of different features like the Neural Net Prediction which enable the machine to self-train and pre-load the correct instructions and enable the machine to run faster in which the Smart Prefetch will learn to anticipate the data the app needs once the correct instructions are selected. AMD's Ryzen also features Pure Power and Precision Boost which has hundreds of sensors to sense and locally optimize the processor to make it run at the fastest possible speed using the lowest power possible. Ryzen can also detect the type of cooling system utilized by the machine and will adjust its performance based on the temperature.
AMD's Ryzen performance was shown in four demos like VR, gaming, gaming with streaming, and game development during the event and has performed flawlessly against the Intel's i7-6900k processor. AMD's Ryzen still outperformed Intel's 6900k by 10 percent in the transcoding demo using the Handbrake App with Ryzen transcoding the video in 54 seconds versus the 6900k's 59 seconds.
AMD Ryzen's performance is really beyond expectation and has amazed spectator during the event. Ryzen could really become Intel's biggest threat after it's Q1 2017 release
