Trump's America: A Threat To The Mentally Ill Community

Mr. Richard A. Friedman, a psychologist tells the story about how his patients reacted to Trump's rather unexpected and abrupt presidential win. His patients said to him that they were worried about which way he might take the nation to and how can they deal with this, taking in account their psychological health.

Richard tells to New York Times that as a psychiatrist, he knows what effect this political happening will have on his patients and they have all the reasons to be worried. He wishes he could be more soothing and reassuring to his patients but he is afraid they rightfully have every reason to be tensed.

Donald Trump vowed that he will revoke and restate the Affordable Care Act, which is causing
reservations and insecurities. 43.5 million people suffer from a mental disorder and 16 million have a
drinking disorder. Until Obamacare was imposed, people with psychosomatic issue suffered yearly.

Obamacare altered all to facilitate and mandated that psychiatric disorder can be treated on a balance with non-psychiatric health illness like cancer and heart disease. It is forbidden for leaving out people with pre-existing sickness from medical treatment, which was a huge help for the mentally ill.

According to The Out Magazine, about 3/4 of all grim mental disorders in adults like depression, schizophrenia and nervousness are there by the age of 25. So mental disorders are chronic illnesses that despite being very treatable, are still distinguished by relapses and recurrences.

Obamacare isn't ideal. No governmental action can rub out the stigma associated with mental sickness, which is the main obstruction to getting good treatment. However, if President-elect Trump fulfills his promise to abolish the law, he will efficiently wipe out millions of Americans with mental illness during the
night. The program, despite having flaws, is medically balanced and compassionate towards the mentally ill.
