‘Color Switch’s’ Colorful Year With 130 Million Downloads.

After a year in the mobile industry, Color Switch proved that its simple design and ingenuity proved superior among other apps. The color game has reached a milestone of 130 million downloads after a year in the mobile market.

The indie game as highlighted due to the number of downloads by both Android and IOS users. Color Switch publisher Fortafy Games, states that studio updated the game 50 times with over 2000 levels added to the game, according to VentureBeat. The original game was said to have been built using the BuildBox software which allows anyone to create and design their own game.

Color Switch is a color game which uses the same gaming principles as "Flappy Bird." The game architecture is not that complex, clicking the app brings the player directly to the start page with a huge play button, below are the game modes, tapping on the play button will launch the tiny ball which the player will maneuver through a series of color wheels. The tiny ball needs to make contact with an object with the same color in order to progress, making contact with the wrong color will send the player back to the start.

The addicting part of Color Switch is its trial and error gameplay and ranking system. These two factors somehow tickle that human thirst for competition and achievement. Color Switch provides the player a sense of pride of bragging rights once an achievement is obtained.

The mobile app market is saturated with a lot of different games. AppBrain reports that there are already 2,601,047 apps in Google Play, while App Store for the IOS has a total of more than two million apps available as of June this year. To have 130 million downloads is a big achievement especially for an Indie game like Color Switch.
