15-Year-Old Teen Arrested In Shooting 21-Year-Old Man Outside Daycare Center In Lawrenceville

A 21-year-old man was shot to death over the weekend outside a daycare center in Lawrenceville, Georgia over the weekend. A 15-year-old was arrested in the fatal shooting and is being considered as the primary suspect.

Patch reported the victim, Curtis Oldham, 21, was found on Saturday. The suspect was identified as Caziah Brown, who's from Lilburn while Oldham was from Lawrenceville.

Brown was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. The 15-year-old was taken into custody on Sunday at an address Lochshyre Way in Lawrenceville in. A Gwinnett County SWAT team was deployed in the area to make the arrest.

Childtime, the daycare center where Oldham was found, is in Lilburn and is located at 4050 Darling CT. It's unclear why he was there but authorities said the man is not in any way related to the daycare facility. It is possible that this is where he ended up as his girlfriend wanted to ask for help.

Someone called police at around 3:41 p.m. and told the dispatcher that they found the car and that a female, who was said to be driving the car, told them her passenger (Oldham) was shot. Oldham was then taken to a hospital by an EMS personnel but he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities believed the shooting was related to drug dealings. It was not yet clear where the shooting really happened as authorities said the girlfriend of Brown took him to the parking lot of the daycare facility. Oldham's girlfriend was not considered a suspect but she might testify during the trial.

Meanwhile, authorities claimed Brown and two other people robbed a 57-year-old delivery man of a pizza. The man's cellphone and car were taken. The older brother of Brown, Dontae Lang, told FOX 5 that his brother was not the type of person who has an angry nature or never thought of killing anybody.

Anyone who has information with what transpired during and before the shooting is asked to call the police at (770) 513-5300. If one wishes to remain anonymous, he or she could contact Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-TIPS (8477).
