Parents who are addicted to it are now facing a new debate that whether they should smoke marijuana while their kids are around them or not and whether it will have a negative affect their health. According to a mother who lives in San Francisco, she will never think of smoking marijuana
while her children are around her. According to NPR, California is among one of those eight states that allow leisure marijuana use for adults that are aged 21 or above.
The women have been using marijuana to treat her migraine and insomnia however she has never smoked or even thought of smoking the drug while her five years old son is around her.
When she was asked why she does not carry out the act while his 5 years old kid is around she said that she is scared that the polluted air might be dangerous for her child and that he might end up getting a breathing problem.
According to Dr. Karen Wilson, the women is making the right decision by not smoking marijuana while her five years old son is around her because there are chances that a child can absorb dangerous chemicals left in the air by the smoke of marijuana.
Dr. Wilson said that they conducted a study on the matter and found devastating results and it was proved that smoking marijuana in the presence of a child might have an effect on the health of the child the result was deduced when they found marijuana metabolites in the urine of a child who was exposed to the smoke of marijuana.
A small study was conducted and involved 43 young children in Colorado and in another state where the use of marijuana was deemed legal. The children, who were aged one month to two years, had to be hospitalized for bronchiolitis, according to Daily Mail.
The studies have concluded that parents should not smoke marijuana in the presence of a child as it could have an adverse effect on the life of the child.
