EA offers this promotion to celebrate holidays according to Gamespot. "Star Wars: Battlefront" Death Star DLC was released in September featuring new maps set on the Death Star. It also features a multi-stage battle Station mode allowing players to recreate Luke Skywalker's trench run from A New Hope. It is said that it actually culminates to distract a giant weapon.
It is a free play weekend on Dec. 23-25, 2016 in all Death Star's modes and maps. However, EA did not specifically discuss if DLC's heroes, star cards and weapons will also be available for free on weekends.
In the Death Star expansion, Chewbacca and Bossk went to Battlefront. But EA did not confirm if the two characters are included in the event on weekend. Players can purchase all "Star Wars: Battlefront" expansion for $15 only. However, the "Star Wars: Battlefront" Ultimate Edition is for $40.
EA and DICE are offering all "Star Wars" players to play Battlefront by giving a double amount of experience points in the multiplayer mode. This could be availed by those who already own Battlefront according to Gamereactor. On the other hand, for those who still do not have their own Battlefront, they can play Death Star DLC for free.
In a report, Death Star is one of the best DLC that has been released as it was deployed all throughout the year. Players can purchase "Star Wars: Battlefront" and Steelbook for only $44.99. The game did not reach the highest review in 2015 because the game does not have a single player campaign.
It was suggested that if Death Star DLC will not be effective, players may consider having the recent Rogue One tie in DLC. "Star Wars: Battlefront" Rogue One Scariff expansion was launched this month featuring new characters and locations from the latest "Star Wars" film.
