Actress Zoe Saldana knows how hard it is for moms to lose the pregnancy weight off. Giving birth to the twins, Cy and Bowie, last November, Zoe had to exert a lot of effort to going back to her ideal figure.
But as the new mom learned in her fitness journey, the road was made lot easier by the fact that she came to accept her state. "Be easy on yourself and embrace the place you're at in life," the actress advised new moms who are in the same predicament as her, according to People Magazine. "And that also involves embracing where your body is at, and just waking up every day with a determination to get to where you want to be."
She also said that she's not going to let the extra pounds bother her. "I can't allow that to happen because at the end of the day, it's physicality, and thinking about it in a very cosmetic way is superficial, and it's become more spiritual for me."
As a confidence boost, she also told new moms: "Our bodies got here because we had children, because now we're mothers, because we're full blown f-ing women so it's a gift; it's really beautiful."
Zoe's weight loss path is not at all new to those following her on social media. The actress constantly shares her workout fails and successes either on her Instagram or Facebook account. In many of her posts, she imbibes only positivity and receives the same vibe from her followers.
Back in June, our roughly seven months after she gave birth, the 37-year-old actress proudly showed a photo of her flat abdomen on Facebook. Many of her followers congratulated her and wished her well on her on-going fitness goal. The actress wrote back: "You have no idea the joy and pride I feel when I read your comments saying you feel inspired and want to do it for yourself. Please continue to share, I was inspired by so many mommies around me to get back into shape because they shared their journey with me."
Other than working out, the actress said she isn't keen on going on a diet, but would rather focus on eating healthy, according to E! News. She's also not afraid to admit that, like many new mothers, her weight loss efforts have been "painful and frustrating," according to Baby Center, but Zoe acknowledges that it's something she has to do. "I am determined to get my energy back and find balance for my body before these little guys start walking."
