Kids with autism are not that easy to shop for when it comes to gifts because most of them have sensory issues. Having said that, toy sellers decided to sell more toys that would give more options for kids with autism.
In an article published by The Los Angeles Times, parents won't have a hard time buying gifts these Christmas for their kids who are diagnosed with autism because there are now toys that could work for them.
Among the stores that educate parents on what to buy for their kids with this case is Hasbro. They teach parents in their store on how their kids could play with My Little Pony and Mr. Potato Head.
Those characters could sometimes come out strong and bright, especially the My Little Pony set, that kids with autism tend to be anxious about playing them. What they really need is a little help on how they could manage and conquer such anxiety.
Even though some stores offer awareness and education to parents in handling the matter, toy makers like Melissa & Doug are also doing their part by creating special toys for these kids. Parents are now able to find catalogs in of toys in different stores nationwide, specifically for kids with autism.
The Chicago Tribune also got a hold of this great news saying that lots of toy stores now are suddenly getting into this project of catering to kids with special needs. Toy sellers and toy store owners are now realizing that the country is in need of bigger establishment to help kids with autism live and enjoy a normal life of a child with their toys. According to statistics, one in 68 kids are suffering from autism since 2012 and it also indicates that their case has gone up over the past 10 years.
