The fight for Ebola is becoming triumphant, especially now that a new vaccine was discovered to 100% protect humans from this deadly virus. This medical breakthrough is overwhelming a lot of people since it came out on December 22.
Based on The New York Times update on the subject, scientists have finally found the answer that would put a coffin to the epidemic that is Ebola. A vaccine that could protect anyone exposed in an area with this virus was recently discovered and it is promising enough to be available to the public soon. This was first tested in West Africa and so far, the result brought out 100% protection for an individual not to get infected by this disease.
As of the moment, the country's department that handles drug regulation has not yet approved the release and use of this drug but they have already considered it effective enough to stock about 300,000 doses of it. The government is now prepared in case another Ebola outbreak happens again.
The Ebola virus was first discovered in 1976 in a place formerly known as Zaire. Since then, medical experts have been doing their best to come up with a vaccine that would protect people from it. This virus has already killed a lot of lives since its first outbreak, which is why scientists tried their best to find a protection against. The passion for these people to solve this was there but the problem was the lack of funds to finish it until recently.
CNN reported that the test vaccines were first officially to the people in Guinea back in 2015 where a lot of people are expose to the virus and some who are also already infected by it. The World Health Organization (WHO) gave out their assessment after a few months that the trials were made and their verdict was that the vaccine is an extremely promising development.
