Fans of John Cena surely have missed their beloved champion wrestler as he did not compete much this year, as compared to previous years. However, fans will be delighted to know that the champion wrestler has been reported to hit the stage early next year when "Royal Rumble" begins on Jan. 29.
John Cena surprised the WWE fans when he graced the "SmackDown Live" battle between AJ Styles, Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler last Tuesday night. In the said match, Cena teased the fans about his being inactive in the WWE.
The WWE champion further emphasized, "I am not done. I am not leaving." After saying this, John Cena then made the biggest announcement that whoever wins in the WWE Title match between Styles, Corbin and Ziggler will battle with him in the WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 29, 2017.
Furthermore, John Cena teased about the New Era talk circulating. According to Cena, he is not happy about this current New Era talk and he even claimed that this should be called "my time is now" era.
AJ Styles came out the winner in the "SmackDown Live" which meant he will be the one to match John Cena in the upcoming "Royal Rumble" on Jan. 29. AJ Styles retained his WWE Title by pinning down Ziggler.
Now, the "Royal Rumble" stage is set to welcome the WWE Championship match between John Cena and AJ Styles. The January event is not the first time that the two champion wrestlers will battle. They have fought in several PPV's in 2016. Their battle at the "SummerSlam" is deemed to be the best match of 2016. Styles won over Cena at the "SummerSlam" match while Cena defeated the former in a tag team match at WWE Battleground, IBT reported.
