‘Super Mario Run’ Is Coming To Android; Pre-Registration Now Open

After spending two weeks since its huge launch exclusively for iOS, "Super Mario Run" is jumping all the way to Android. Pre-registration has recently opened on Google's Play Store Nintendo's iconic plumber. This grants users a notification once the game has gone live for Android users.

"Super Mario Run" for Android devices does not have a specific release date as of this writing. But GameSpot reported that Android users can pre-register by clicking this link.

Last December 15, Nintendo released "Super Mario Run" solely for iOS devices. This marks Nintendo's first attempt at penetrating the profitable mobile gaming market. "Super Mario Run" for mobile devices is the first of its kind to appear on smartphones in an official capacity.

Plus, "Super Mario Run," after spending a few days on the App Store, became one of the most popular games to hit iPhone and also became one of the top 10 highest grossing apps, although for a short while, according to a report.

"Super Mario Run" for mobile devices was downloaded 40 million times and has passed the 50 million mark in just over a week since its outing. However, despite the massive success and people's expectation of it becoming the next "Pokemon GO," the game dropped down from the top grossing list. This is because "Super Mario Run" has only a single in-app purchase unlike "Pokemon GO."

Nintendo's auto-running game is downloadable for free, but initially offers players only three playable levels, as the full game requires a single in-app purchase to unlock the full game at $10. The full "Super Mario Run" game is composed of three modes. Players will be able to play the single-player base experience "World Tour" mode and unlock other levels or competitive mode "Toad Rally" to win varying colors of toads to bring back to the respective player's kingdom. Then, there is the self-explanatory "Kingdom Builder" game mode.

There is no specific date when "Super Mario Run" will hit Android devices. But there might be a slight possibility that it will be around Jan. 15, which is relatively a month after the iOS release.
