Pirates Leak Fan-Made 'Pokemon Prism' Online After Nintendo Issued Cease And Desist Order Against Koolboyman!

"Pokemon Prism" is a long awaited fan-made ROM hack and it is supposedly be released this month. However, four days before its release date, Nintendo gave creator Koolboyman and his team a cease and desist order. But, even though it was shut down, it made its way on the internet and it can now be downloaded online, thanks to a group of pirates.

The 2001 sequel to "Pokemon Gold and Silver" is "Pokemon Crystal" and the team wants its players to have a new "Pokemon" experience that is why it crafted its new fan-made ROM hack for over eight years. According to Kotaku, the read only memory of the video game software is edited in order to change the way how the game is being played.

"Pokemon Prism" could allow customization of characters. Players could also discover and explore new region provided in "Pokemon Crystal". The main purpose why such fan-made ROM hack was created is to provide users with a whole new experience.

In order to make fans aware of the newest ROM hack, it was even featured on the "Twitch Plays Pokemon channel". It was expected that "Pokemon Prism" will be released on Dec. 21, 2016, but it was stopped when a cease and desist order was sent by representatives of Nintendo.

It seemed like Prism is doomed after the shutdown of Koolboyman's website. It is worth noting that he is also hosting a ROM hack for "Pokemon Red" called "Pokemon Brown"- and "Pokemon FireRed" called "Rijon Adventures". But its files surfaced on 4chan the next day.

According to WWG, hackers got their hands on "Pokemon Prism" and leaked them on 4chan. The credits of the game were even cut down by the hackers so that the identities of the real developers can be protected. The leaked version was even the complete version although there are still major bugs experienced in the game.
