The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly expecting their third child.
A source told Star Magazine that Kate Middleton is in the "early states of pregnancy with baby number 3," according to Hollywood Life, and she has been scaling down on her activities and commitments.
Last month, Kate missed a friend's wedding and had her sister, Pippa, attend the celebration in her place, as reported by Hello Magazine. Since the duchess' previous pregnancies were so delicate, she's reportedly not taking any chances again and spends most of her days resting and relaxing with her two kids. "Kate has the Queen's blessing to forgo royal duties for at least two months, until she overcomes the treat of sickness," the source was said to have revealed.
The source also said that the third baby will be due in late April or early May, "so she'll likely be showing by the New Year. She knows the paparazzi will try everything to get the first photos of her bulging swimsuit—that's why she wanted to take an earlier vacation." What triggered the speculations further was the fact that the family's yearly trips to Mustique was already moved to November, instead of early winter, to accommodate Kate's condition, according to Star Pulse.
But Gossip Cop reported that the third pregnancy story is not true. The news outlet said that a palace insider confirmed that the story is "rubbish," and cited that Star Magazine did a similar report in 2013 when Prince George was only a few months old.
Meanwhile, the royal couple is heading to Scotland along with Prince George and Princess Charlotte next, according to People. They are expected to join the special dinner for Queen Elizabeth who will be honored as the longest reigning monarch for Britain on Sept. 9.
"It's a milestone day for the Queen, but for her it is 'business as usual' and she has her engagements during the day," a palace spokesperson told People. "Any dinner will be treated like every other evening, and we won't be briefing on who the Queen is having dinner with. That won't change because of the significance of the day."
But the queen's son and the second in line to the throne, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla, will not be in Balmoral for the event. "The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have long-standing commitments on September 9th," revealed a Clarence House spokesperson. For the rest of the royal staff, it will also be business as usual.
