Over a month ago, Rachel Dolezal, NAACP chapter president, made headlines after a controversial issue of race and ethnicity when she presented herself as black ,which was countered by her Caucasian parents. This time Dolezal is in for a new blessing as she announces her pregnancy.
According to Perez Hilton, Dolezal announced her pregnancy over Instagram where she posted a photo of three bears she captioned with "One of my sons is a grown-up man at 21, one thinks he's grown at 13, and another one is still cooking, but they are all three my precious beloved babies, and I am a mean momma bear if anyone gets between me & my cubs!" TMZ reports that Dolezal is in her second trimester and is expecting a boy again. She already has two sons and another one is on his way. According to New York Post, she had her 13-year-old son from his previous marriage with ex-husband Kevin Moore, while the 21-year-old African-American lad grew up as her adopted brother.
Dolezal was married but she divorced 10 years ago. She was engaged to another man but they called-off their engagement and broke up in 2013. Both men were African-American. When asked about the father of her new bundle of joy, the expectant mom remained mum.
Dolezal made headlines earlier after it was revealed that she was lying about her background. In an earlier report from Parent Herald, she identified herself as black and made stories that she was born in a teepee and grew up hunting for food with a bow and arrow.
Her parents, Lawrence Dolezal and Ruthanne Dolezal, were not pleased with their daughter's decision and decided to speak up. Ruthanne told TODAY: "I think Rachel has tried to damage her biological family and those kind of claims, as false as they were, seem to serve her purposes in her mind."
Rachel was slammed by parents who also raised children with a different race. In a separate report from Parent Herald, one mom shared that she also raises children of color but she remained white and stressed that whatever the identity of her children are, it does not alter her reality.
On the other hand, in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Dolezal stressed that she did not mislead or deceive anyone. "If people feel misled or deceived, then sorry that they feel that way, but I believe that's more due to their definition and construct of race in their own minds than it is to my integrity or honesty, because I wouldn't say I'm African-American, but I would say I'm black, and there's a difference in those terms."
