Not all games highlight its settings, but few video games do, such as the historical fiction action-adventure "Assassin's Creed." Its latest trailer will surely awe its viewers as it takes one to the Industrial Age of London.
The two-minute footage takes a different approach as it concentrates on the world where the game will take place, Digital Trends reports. According to Polygon, the short clip features the cricket game, the parks, public houses and the popular Big Ben.
The trailer highlights London in the late 1800s, when the place was gloomy but the ambience of the environment did not in any way make the game less impressive. As Digital Trends described it, "for every plume of greasy smoke there is a purple and orange sunset, for every look at the dirty Thames, we get a glimpse of a green grassy courtyard dotted with trees. England's green and pleasant land (to quote William Blake) is well represented."
Mark-Alexis Cote earlier said that Victorian London is a very different city than what they built in the past series because it has wider streets and higher buildings. He added that in this series they have the tallest building the franchise ever had, VG 247 has learned.
According to the report, there were issues when the last game of the series "Assassin's Creed Unity" was launched which triggers Ubisoft, the development team of the video game to be candid in wanting to make things right with "Syndicate."
At the San Diego Comic-Con, Ubisoft showed a demo to the crowd while requesting the audience to be honest as much as possible when giving their feedback.
According to VG 247, in the last franchise getting into buildings was a nightmare and Cote and the team addressed this in "Syndicate." "In terms of navigation, we've improved the entry into window, which was something players were complaining about last year," he said.
"We really took that to heart, tried to find solutions to make it better and make the navigation more fluid over all, so that players would stick less on objects that they don't want to, [and it would be] much more driven by where the player wants to go."
Cote also recognized that in all the years of experience they had on "Assassin Creed," they learned that the easier the players get onto rooftops the more they enjoy the game and he stressed that the team focused on this feature.
"Assassin's Creed Syndicate" will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 23. Gamers with Windows PC will need to wait a bit longer as PC version will only be available a month after on Nov. 19, Polygon has learned.
