There is no doubt that "Game of Thrones" is a popular TV series. The moment its last season ended, there was already a continuous hype on what to expect in the show's upcoming season. The latest reports about "Game of Thrones" season 6 involves leak photos of the production set in Girona.
The controversial photos were posted on social media website Imgur. One will see a marketplace and some other filming locations for the show. According to Elpuntavui via International Business Times, actress Maisie Williams, who played the headstrong and fiercely independent Arya Stark, is already in Girona. Her presence suggests that some locations in the city will illustrate Braavos on the show given that its where Arya was last seen in the previous season.
Aside from Girona, portions of a major scene for "Game of Thrones" season 6 were filmed in Ballintoy, Northern Ireland. According to sources, Danish actor Pilou Asbaek will be playing the role of Euron Greyjoy. He was spotted shooting with the rest of the cast in the said location. The scene involved a crowd cheering for Euron, WatchersOnTheWall has learned.
Sources claimed that Kingsmoot was already partially filmed and the scene was very visible from the cliff paths nearby. Yara was also spotted at the scene. Sources also observed someone playing the Drowned Priest's role, which they think was not the same actor from season 2 but it's difficult to tell for certain in the said case. Filming in Ballintoy Harbour will continue for the rest of the week.
On the other hand, British actor Finn Jones, who plays gay knight Ser Loras Tyrell claimed that he already read the script and knows what's coming. "I was a little bit nervous when I got the scripts through but I've started filming now and so the nerves aren't there anymore. So I know what's happening, a lot of good stuff to do this year," the 27-year-old actor told Express.
When asked if the show would be jaw-dropping, similar to its previous seasons, Jones revealed that the show is always shocking and it's never going to stop surprising its viewers. "The end of season six in particular is very shocking," he revealed.
The actor revealed that there are many scenes in "Game of Thrones" season 6 which he enjoys filming and hinted that it could be his most favorite moments in the show to date. As for his homosexuality in the show, he feels that portrayal of a gay character has become "normalized." The actor takes the experience as a positive thing.
"Game of Thrones" season 6 will return in Spring 2016.
