A month from now, fans will witness another action-thriller TV series as "Arrow" returns for its fourth season. Stephen Amell, who played the billionaire playboy turned hooded vigilante, will debut his Green Arrow persona and he will be joined by a new cast.
"True Blood" star Rutina Wesley will be joining the cast of "Arrow" season 4 as Liza Warner also known as Lady Cop, CinemaBlend reports. The production team via director Lexi Alexander released a photo of Lady Cop, featuring Wesley in a full Lady Cop garb standing outside the driver's seat of a police S.W.A.T van. Her looks suggest that she will be a tough and aggressive character.
According to the report, the outfit brings up the classic 1980's "Robocop" when things have gotten out of control and the police force were militarized, which is a good thing knowing that things will need to get pretty bad to bring the titular vigilante back. Moreover, that patch on her tactical vest that reads "Star City" as opposed to the show's traditional "Starling City" is suggesting that the show is becoming more in line with its comic book origin.
According to ScreenRant, Warner first appeared in the 1975 first Issue special #4 as an officer who was renowned for her police work and photographic memory. She will appear on episode 4 titled "Beyond Redemption."
In a separate report from CinemaBlend, aside from Lady Cop the other anticipated moments in the upcoming season include the return of John Constantine. Matt Ryan will be reprising his role and will appear in episode 5 titled "Haunted" where he will arrive in Star City and work with Team Arrow to deal the consequences the group will face after Sara Lance was revived in the Lazarus Pit.
In the last season, Thea became a full-fledged superhero after putting on Roy Harper's costume and became Speedy. Her superhero character will be taken into another level as she becomes a key member of Team Arrow who will be fighting back the criminals in Star City. However, Thea's character will not be that smooth sailing as she deals with some potential side-effects from her Lazarus Pit revival.
More importantly, since many believe that The Arrow is dead, Oliver will have to don on a new costume and develop a new superhero identity, which is The Green Arrow. The costume was first shown at the San Diego Comic-Con last July, which seems to be the product of Felicity's creativity as her facial expression suggests in the new trailer.
"Arrow" season 4 premieres on Oct. 7, Wednesday at 8 p.m ET/PT at The CW.
