Samsung Will Extend Compatibility With iPhone [Samsung Gear S2, S2 3G and Gear S2 Classic Release Date & Features]

Samsung proves once again that they do not want to be left behind in terms of technology development because the Korean tech-giant has finally developed their own smartwatch, which is something very worth-wanting.

According to BGR, after two years and what seems to be a dozen attempts, Samsung emerged victorious in developing a counterpart to Apple Watch. The report suggests that the new gadget is solid, with an impressive look, a well designed user interface and a reasonably smooth software which is very outstanding for a watch platform.

In their website, Samsung lists the amazing features of Gear S2 which includes S Health that keeps track on one's daily activity level, heart rate and water vs caffeine intake. They also developed strong partnership with amazing apps like Line, Alipay, Voxer and SmartThings to name a few. It is also equipped with Samsung Pay so paying for a cup of coffee or a quick bite will just be as easy as waving one's arm or holding one's wrist near the NFC reader.

It also comes with an impressive connectivity, it can store 300 songs synced consistently from the phone so one can go anywhere with his favorite playlists only with a Gear S2 and a Level U Bluetooth headphones if one opted to leave his phone at home. If in case, it's time to recharge, one just needs to place the smartwatch on the wireless charging dock.

That's not all, Samsung also took their achievement into a higher level. In a separate report from BGR, Samsung announced that Gear S2 will be compatible with Android smartphones from other vendors that run Android 4.4 or later and with a memory of at least 1.5 GB RAM.

Among the brands of phones compatible with Gear S2 smartwatch are Asus, HTC, Huawei, Kyocera, Lenovo, LG, Motorola, Nubia, Oppo, Pantech, Sharp, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi and ZTE. To learn the specific model in each brand, check their site.

If one finds that it is already impressive for Samsung to consider other Android phones, then, here's an even greater news: the company is considering on extending their support to iPhone.

In an interview with Digital Spy, an official Samsung spokesperson disclosed that they are actively following in Android Wear's footsteps and may open up its latest Tizen-powered wearable to the iPhone iOS platform.

"We are looking at possibilities to open it up to iOS," the spokesperson said. "Because we opened it up to Android, we are looking at this."

Samsung Gear S2 and Samsung Gear S2 Classic will be released next month, October, while Samsung Gear S2 3G will be released after Gear S2. Samsung has not officially announced what carriers will offer it but the gadget will likely be on store shelves by the end of November.
