Justin Trudeau Hopes His 8-Year-Old Daughter Will Not Follow Her Dad In Politics

Like any father, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau aspires nothing but the best for his children. The politician has three growing children with wife, Sophie. However, he hopes that none of them, especially his 8-year-old daughter, would follow in his footsteps.

Addressing the public during a town hall meeting in Fredericton, Trudeau was asked by a young girl from the audience to talk about Ella Grace, The Star reports. He proudly revealed that his daughter's ambition varies from week to week, including wanting to be a teacher like Trudeau was.

Trudeau, however, doesn't want Ella nor his other kids, Xavier, 9, and Hadrien, 2, to become politicians. He cited that the family has already given so much as public servants.

Trudeau is, of course, referring to his role as prime minister as well as his father's, Pierre Trudeau. The latter served Canada as its highest leader for two terms before his death in 2000.

"I don't know that I'd wish it on a third generation," the father-of-three said. Thankfully, Ella doesn't seem to aspire politics for now. "You know, she's an eight-year-old. Part of her wants to be a princess and a rock and roll star," Trudeau said, according to Huffington Post.

Meanwhile, a former member of the security team for the Trudeaus recently revealed facets about the prime minister's childhood. Raymond LeBlanc, a retired Mountie, said that he first served the family when Trudeau was only 5-years-old.

As a child, Justin Trudeau would often wonder why his dad was always busy. LeBlanc, however, is proud of what his ward has become and the prime minister still remembers him even after years of retirement.

"He's smart, he's witty, he's so many ways like his dad," the security aide told CBC. ''You know when I see him do stuff, I think of his dad a lot."
