Ohio Mother Faces Charges After Showing Child Taped To The Wall Via Facebook Live

An Ohio mother was arrested and charged after she took to Facebook Live to show his son was taped to the wall. The 18-year-old mother said on the video she taped her son because she could not do anything with him running around the house.

New York Post reported the mother, identified as Shayla Rudolph, was arrested on Thursday after the Reynoldsburg Police Department received a tip saying she used a clear packing tape to hold her son in place against the wall. The boy's mouth was also taped and his muffled cries were heard in the background. The two-year-old boy was restrained for around 15 minutes.

At one point in the video, Rudolph taunted the child welfare officials. She told them that they could come and take her son. Rudolph was charged with felony abduction. Her son was also taken into custody by the Franklin County Children's Services.

In the video, which was posted weeks ago, Rudolph was seen standing in front of the boy. The boy's face was blurred by other publications that released the video but his cries were heard. At one point, Rudolph turned to her son saying that he has the best mother in the world and threatened to add more tape if the boy did anything that would trigger her.

"You can't clean without them running around tearing up?" the mother said in the video. "Tape 'em to the wall. You can't cook or none of that because they running around? Tape 'em to the wall."A

According to ABC 13, the children's services did not yet comment publicly on the matter or confirm if they really are investigating the mother. Days after the first post, the mother went live on Facebook once again and said that she will no longer tape her son against the wall and would discipline him by making him stand in the corner.

It is unclear where the father of the child is or if there was anyone else with the woman at the time of the incident. No other information is available as to the child services' investigation regarding the matter.
