Fans of the popular hit series "Transformers" are pretty excited with the development of its fifth franchise. However, the production is careful enough to keep all the details under wraps. Unfortunately, this does not stop fans from speculating what to expect in "Transformers 5."
According to Movie News Guide, lead writer Akiva Goldsman had stated earlier that their team of writer is going back to the history of "Transformers" and that they "will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line."
Goldman did not only share what their team worked on but he also stirred the interest of hopeful fans by teasing about the "Beast Wars" plot line in the upcoming film. The report suggests that "Beast Wars" is based on the 1996 animated series following the heroic adventures of Maximals against Predacons.
Maximals and Predacons are both "Transformers" but instead of morphing into vehicles they transformed into animals instead. Among the favorite characters are the gorilla "Optimus Prime," "Rhinox" and "Cheetor" who may return if this plot will appear in the storyline.
Meanwhile, actor Mark Ryan who voiced over the "Transformer" Jetfire, talked about the upcoming movie during the "Wings and Wheel" convention in the United Kingdom where he revealed that the film will go into two directions, according Christian Post Entertainment.
Ryan explained that the first plot will concentrate on Cade and Co, which brings fans into conclusions that "Transformers 5" will revolve around the Autobots on earth. The report hinted that the franchise plans to reinvent the brand of the movie adaptations and this time they will focus more on the transformers instead of the human characters.
On the other hand, with a group of talented writers and with the production gearing up for a new direction for the franchise, everything is possible.
According to Forbes, "Transformers" writers headed by Goldman includes Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk), Jeff Pinker (Lost), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man), The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man), Christina Hodson (Shut In), Lindsey Beer, Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
Deadline reports that "Daredevil" and "Spartacus" showrunner Steven S. DeKnight just recently joined the team. Which could possibly be the reason he was not able to return for "Daredevil" season 2.
If each brilliant writer comes up with his own script, the film could possibly score 12 sequels according to Collider. However, at the moment the top priority is "Transformers 5."
"Transformers 5" is initially set for release in 2017.
