Robin Thicke-Paula Patton Custody Battle: Singer Ordered To Stay Away From Ex-Wife After She Claimed He Physically Abused Her

The custody battle between Robin Thicke and ex-wife Paula Patton got uglier after a restraining order was issued by a judge. The singer was ordered to stay away from his ex-wife as she claimed he physically abused her in the past.

The lawyer of Thicke, Angela Pierce, appeared in a Los Angeles court on Thursday to request complete temporary sole custody over the former couple's son, 6-year-old Julian. However, the request was not granted and the temporary restraining order was announced. In the temporary restraining order documents from Patton and her legal team, she said that the singer cheated on her, punched her, and kicked her when they were still married, People reported.

In the custody agreement of the former couple in the past after their 2015 divorce, Thicke was granted overnights with Julian from Thursday to Saturday. The circumstances have changed, however, and he was ordered to have supervised visitation with his son only until 7 p.m. Patton was also given sole legal and physical custody over Julian until the next hearing, which is set this Feb. 24.

The lawyer of Thicke claims Patton never reported any domestic violence in the past until she was in the position of contempt by violating the custody orders. Pierce continued to claim that the statements of Patton and the issuance of a temporary restraining order was made just to hurt her client but his focus is on their son, Billboard reported. She added they believe the Department of Community & Family Services of Los Angeles will soon see the damage that Patton did to their son and they are expected to take appropriate action to protect the best interest of the child.

In the other documents filed by Patton, she said that Thicke physically abused their son but the singer denied those statements. Patton also said that she became concerned over the drug and alcohol use of Thicke and the forms of punishment he inflicts on Julian. Patton also said after Thicke demanded to see Julian last week, their son cried because he did not want to see or go with his father. The former nanny of Julian claimed in a statement the allegations of Patton were not true.

Thicke and Patton dated for 10 years before they got married in June 2005. She filed for divorced in 2014 and the judgment was made final a few months later.
