Rapper Tyga Buys 4-Year-Old Son Grills, Gets Slammed For Bad Parenting

Rapper Tyga recently bought his 4-year-old son King Cairo a decorative dental piece called grills. The public, however, slammed the music artist for his bad parenting choice.

Tyga showed off King Cairo's grills via a post on Instagram. In it, the 4-year-old was all smiles as his lower set of teeth was speckled with the metal accessory.

Tyga himself has a different set of grills which has become his trademark look as a rap artist. Some of his followers, however, are questioning why he would subject the same vanity to his 4-year-old whose teeth are still developing.

"Those can ruin your teeth...your son is way too young to have them," one Instagram commenter said, according to Refinery. "That's almost unpleasant to look at, especially on a toddler," another said. Grills are also expensive dental pieces and some didn't think it was right to spend it on a toddler when his father should let him just be a kid.

There were followers, however, who defended the father against the criticisms saying that at least King Cairo, whose mom is Tyga's ex-girlfriend Blac Chyna, gets dotted on by his dad. Some fans also appreciated the rapper spends stuff for his son, no matter how extravagant this might be.

According to the American Dental Association (ADA), no studies have been done to show the potential damage to the teeth and gums by wearing grills. The organization also cited there are also no studies to prove that wearing the decorative dental piece is safe.

Those who use grills, however, tend to bring damage to their teeth and gums because of improper habits. Some glue the dental attachment even as this is supposed to be removable. Some also forget to practice proper dental care.

The ADA advised wearing grills should be limited. It has to be taken off when sleeping or eating. Users will also have to brush and floss their teeth regularly to ensure that the mouth is free from bacteria.

Grills are also made of metals that could cause an allergic reaction to the user. It's better to discuss the use of grills first with a dentist before considering one.
