An Ohio teenager diagnosed with leukemia had an interesting dying wish on her bucket list. She would like to be able to use a stun gun against someone and a local cop stepped up to fulfill it.
Alyssa Elkins, a 16-year-old from McConnellsville in Ohio, was invited by the Newark Division of Police on Sunday so she can finally cross out one item on her bucket list. Sgt. Doug Bline volunteered to be tased by Elkins but before she had to do this the police gave a few tips and some training.
Elkins confessed she didn't think a stun gun would hurt badly. "I don't like inflicting pain on people," the teen said, citing she has only seen how it's done on television or the movies, according to 10TV. "I didn't know it was going to be that painful really."
She saw how Sgt. Bline dropped on the floor and winced when she tased him but the cop took it all in stride afterward. "If it makes somebody's kind of dream come true, especially in her situation, I think it was well worth it," the cop said, according to Associated Press.
But why did Elkins have this as one of her dying wishes? According to Jezebel, the teenager suffered from leukemia for years. She recently learned from her doctors that she has only four months to live and she wanted to feel like a badass for once.
Elkins is grateful for the Newark police force for this unusual but unforgettable opportunity. She described her experience with Sgt. Bline as "awesome."
She also said having a bucket list helps keep her mind off the reality that she will be bidding the world goodbye after a short time. Her family is helping her complete her dying wishes and next up is a trip to Disneyland. Watch Elkins stun Sgt. Bline in the video below.
