The Keeping Up With The Kardashians brood have never been strangers to the limelight. Given the controversial personalities in the Kardashian clan, the public have been quite used to seeing the names of Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian in the news. In fact, even the romantic partners and flings of the Kardashian sisters, namely, Kanye West, Lamar Odom, James Harden and Scott Disick managed to snag the spotlight every now and then due to the reality show's notoriety. However, it had been Bruce Jenner, now Caitlyn Jenner, who managed to make the most noise and garner the highest attention from the public.
Transitioning from the muscular Olympian to a sophisticated and well-dressed woman, Caitlyn has attained superstar status not only in the LGBT community but also worldwide. Her courage to stand up and defy conventions for the sole purpose of baring her true self to the public has been applauded by many and even prompted ESPN to grant her the Courage Award.
Amid all the fanfare, however, it appears that the public completely forgot about the fact that Caitlyn had been the husband of Kris Jenner for many years. Their marital union even brought about two daughters, namely, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. The two have been frequently featured in Keeping Up With The Kardashians, with the then Bruce Jenner content in staying in the background.
With the changes brought about by her transformation though, Caitlyn now needs to face the cameras to provide a support system to those aiming to go through the same process she is currently experiencing. The reality series dedicated to her, titled "I Am Cait," has been branded as a turning point for the LGBT community as it opens a dialogue in the media in terms of the struggles of transgenders in society.
Interestingly, Caitlyn's TV series also features those showcased in Keeping Up With the Kardashians. In the latest episode of I Am Cait, former spouses Caitlyn and Kris confront each other face to face and attempt to air their grievances.
"I'm really happy for you, I really am," states Kris, who looks at her ex sitting across her, according to Mirror UK. She adds, "But sometimes we miss having Bruce around. We all do."
To this, Caitlyn points out that her transition and her marriage to the Keeping Up With The Kardashians matriarch are two different and separate things. Caitlyn replies, I did not leave you thinking I was going to transition. I didn't know what I was going to do. I never thought I'd be here."
In an earlier promo, the confrontation of the two had been teased to be emotional and heartbreaking for Kris.
"You're sensitive and amazing to all these new people in your life," says a teary-eyed Kris to Caitlyn as the former lovers face each other for the first time, according to Us Weekly. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians "momager" added, "But you're not so sensitive and amazing to the family that you left behind."
