A fireman never expected that a late night emergency call would give him the opportunity to rescue a baby girl and adopt her as well. Marc Hadden, a firefighter from South Carolina, was responding to the call of duty sometime in November 2011 when he got the surprise of his life.
Hadden was forced to deliver a baby after he realized that the pregnant woman at the site was already in labor without a doctor in sight. His wife Beth said the incident was a life-changing one for her husband who was so excited about delivering a baby.
"He called me and he was ecstatic. I mean, he delivered a baby and who in the world gets to deliver a baby in their lifetime that's not a doctor?" his wife said, according to Mirror. The mother, however, put up the baby for adoption immediately after giving birth.
The Hadden couple then decided to adopt the little bundle of joy and add her to their already growing family. They already have two sons.
After 48 hours of responding to the emergency call, the couple brought home the baby girl. The adoption was legal, with the necessary papers signed by the parties concerned.
They named the little girl Grace who has since grown into a daddy's girl, as per Yahoo News. Marc said his 5-year-old daughter as grown to become his best friend with whom he shares a deep bond. The father and daughter team goes on date nights at their favorite fast food restaurant. She has become daddy's girl.
Grace knows how she was born into this world and will tell anyone how she was delivered by her daddy right inside the ambulance, according to WB News. Beth said having another baby after two boys was next to impossible as she was pre-term, so they considered Grace a blessing.
