Celebrity mothers appear to have no problems raising their children, but British actress Sienna Miller revealed that it's not entirely the case.
The actress, who is gracing the covers of the latest issue of Vogue UK, opens up about the joys and pains of becoming a parent. She made an honest admission about what all mothers know to be true: having kids is exhausting.
"Everything is shifting. It's actually been the shittiest year, and amazing. It's always yin and yang. I feel like if you're excelling in one area, it's hard to manage both and I do feel like the work is going really well," said Sienna.
"Obviously when you have a baby it's the most incredible experience but your life is also catapulted into this chaos and you are exhausted. I could literally get on this table and fall asleep," she said, and admitted that she has yet to figure out how to manage. "That's the curse of motherhood—we just run ourselves ragged."
The 33-year-old movie star, who appeared in films like "American Sniper" and "Foxcatcher," gave birth to her daughter, Marlowe, in July 2012. She experienced complications during labor. "I had my heart set on this natural water birth and I ended up, after 27 hours, having an emergency C-section," she said, according to Huffington Post U.K.
Last July, Sienna called off her engagement to Tom Sturridge, the father of her baby, after a four-year relationship, according to US Weekly. "They were in a bit of a rough patch for a while. Their schedules on top of raising a child started to get to them," an insider allegedly told the news outlet regarding the breakup.
In light of this, she's raising Marlowe as a single parent. Despite the difficulties, Sienna said that she loves being a mother. "It was like, 'There you are-that's what I have been missing.' Like we're both in on something only we know. An amazing sense of being complicit with a little being," she told Vogue USA in January.
Meanwhile, the actress' latest movie, "Black Mass," is set to hit theaters on Sept. 18. Miller plays Catherine Greig, the girlfriend of gangster Whitey Bulger (played by Johnny Depp). She prepared for the role with a dialect coach to perfect her Boston accent. But according to Fox News, her scenes in the crime thriller have been cut, citing that producers wanted a different direction for the movie.
