Fans of Red Riding Hood will surely be delighted with the upcoming season of "Once Upon A Time" because the production has confirmed that Ruby Red will return. Yes, Meghan Ory will be seen in the anticipated series.
TVLine had the chance to speak with Eddy Kitsis, "Once Upon A Time" co-creator, where Kitsis hinted about a full moon.
"I hope there is a full moon this year. You never know who might come out...," Kitsis said.
His statement made the audience think that it has something to do with Ruby Red.
It did not take long and TVLine confirmed that Ory will be reprising her role in the modern fairytale legend TV series. If this news pleases Ory's fan, then there's more to that.
Ory will not just return for one episode, she will be around for multiple episodes. Isn't that great? After missing the girl in red cap, she will be staying for several episodes.
Ruby Red's last appearance in the show was in season 3 finale, when all the residents in Storybrooke gathered together into Granny's to witness Snow's and David's announcement of baby Neal's name.
According to Hypable, the news came a little earlier than the release date of the "Once Upon A Time" companion novel titled "Red's Untold Tale." The book explores the earlier chapter of Red's life. Thus, it will feature a younger Ruby.
"Once Upon A Time" producers said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: "Plagued by nightmares she doesn't understand and a temper she can't control, 16-year-old Red struggles to save Granny's troubled business and to nurture her budding romance with Peter, even as the betrayal of her classmates awakens the wolf within."
The book will help fans understand Ruby's character more as it takes the audience back further in her life than what was showcased in the ABC drama. Ruby played a significant role in the first two seasons of "Once Upon A Time."
She was promoted to have a regular series in season two but she decided to leave the show to take one of the lead roles in the short-lived CBS drama "Intelligence." CBS cancelled the show after one season.
Prior to her appearance in "Once Upon A Time," Ory's TV credits include episodes of "True Justice," "Supernatural," "Psych" and NBC's "Knight Rider" reboot, TV Line has learned.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Red's Untold Tale" written by Wendy Toliver is the latest title to join "Once Upon A Time's" growing books and graphic novel collection.
"Once Upon A Time" season 5 will premiere on Sept. 27, Sunday, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
