Kourtney Kardashian, who is raising her three children via co-parenting with her former partner Scott Disick, was recently mom-shamed on social media. The reason? The mother-of-three reportedly allowed her 4-year-old daughter Penelope to wear a lip ring.
A photo was posted by Kardashian on Instagram showing her blonde daughter sleeping beside her. Kardashian, on the other hand, wore little to no make-up and wore a robe. The photo was posted over the weekend during the Academy Awards night. She wrote in the caption, "Our Oscar Sunday. Yes, that's a lip ring. Thanks @kimkardashian."
Some asked the mother-of-three why she would do such as a kid while others offered support and called Penelope a beautiful child. Another wrote Kardashian's daughter is a little girl and is not a teenager or an adult. The Instagram follower told Kardashian she is being irresponsible and is setting a bad example regarding parenting. Another commented whether or not the lip ring is real, Penelope is too young for such and is a bad example of parenting, Motto reported.
Other commenters said they should not interfere with whatever choice Kardashian does for her child since she is the mother. Others believed she was rushing her child to grow up, Wonderwall reported.
Kardashian did not comment on the matter but she said in an interview last year she was pressured to be the perfect parent. However, she got past that and tried to ignore the pressure saying she now stays calm and trusts her instincts.
Kardashian basically takes care of her three kids after she and Disick split in 2015. The two have not reconciled romantically but work together to take care of their kids. Their living arrangements are not clear but Disick is sometimes seen with the kids without Kardashian in tow. They also frequently spend family vacations together.
Disick, on the other hand, underwent rehab for his alcohol and substance abuse and was spotted with other women since his split from Kardashian. He also constantly travels. Kardashian was not linked to anyone since her split from Disick.
