There is no doubt that the sixth book of the popular novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is the most anticipated book to date. It has been four years since the last installment "A Dance with Dragons" was published, yet the hype about the release date of "Winds of Winter" continued to make headlines.
Finally, there's a big possibility that the long-awaited book "Winds of Winter" will finally see the light of day. According to Los Siete Reinos via Watchers On The Wall, Alejo Cuervo, editor for Ediciones Gigamesh, the small Spanish publisher who owns the rights to the books, had an interview with Catalan radio station El Mon a RAC, where he spilled his knowledge about the book's possible release date.
During the interview, Cuervo was asked by the radio host "the sixth book will be?," to which he answered straightly with " It is expected next year." The radio host even cleared the matter by suggesting that the date was for the English version and asked when it will be available for Spanish.
"We have been promised the manuscript in advance of the release in English which we will translate, there won't be a big difference," Cuervo said.
The host even asked the editor for confirmation, "But you are equally sure it will be next year?" to which Cuervo answered with "Well, let's see, confident...but a meteor could fall."
Author George RR Martin had already expressed his plans on finishing the book by cancelling several invitations. "I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews—anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done," Martin said, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Martin has been teasing his fans about the release of "Winds of Winter." Last month, in his live journal Not a Blog, he wrote: "And while I will be travelling, my army of minions will be here at the old homestead, toiling in the paper mines," which triggers fans to believe that the book is already in publication.
Moreover, when the 66-year-old author speak before the crowd in NYC, he ended his speech with another subtle hint about the book by saying, "And remember, winter is coming."
Martin also shared that he will be pursuing a bittersweet ending for his successful book series similar to "Lord of the Rings." Moreover, in a recent report from Parent Herald, Martin revealed his inspiration in penning the book, which he attributed to his fondness in reading history and stories of war, betrayal, kings, murders and poisoning.
