Stunning Maternity Photoshoot Idea: Family's Unconventionally Muddy Pregnancy Photos Impress Internet

A family from Texas came up with an unconventionally muddy maternity photoshoot. Jon and Brittany Barton wanted to show that the coming of their third child was going to be a beautiful mess. The photoshoot's outcome impressed internet users.

The Barton couple enlisted Elaine Baca for the photoshoot but the muddy theme wasn't the original concept. They wanted it done outdoors because the family was outdoorsy. They postponed the session a number of times, however, because it kept raining in Texas.

Baca then suggested they take advantage of the rain. "They have a huge backyard which backs up to a field and I knew it had lots of muddy puddles," the photographer said, as per Houston Chronicle. "So, I asked her what she thought about playing in the rain and ending with a mud fight." Brittany loved the idea.

Baca took basic family photos first so that Jon, Brittany and their kids, Declan 4, and Noah, 2, can warm up. Then they started throwing mud and playing with each other.

Baca was able to capture the fun in their faces. The photographer, however, said it looked like the parents enjoyed it more than the kids. One of the boys hesitated to get himself dirty in the mud in the beginning and it took a while for him to let loose, Baca told Huffington Post.

The mom was 38 weeks when the shoot took place. Nine days later, she gave birth to another son, Matthew.

Love What Matters shared the Barton family's images on Facebook where it received 68,000 likes and 5,757 shares so far. Netizens loved the pictures for its naturally candid takes. It captured the heart of a happy family.

"This says so much about these parents," one Facebook user said. "Way less stress than trying to get the perfect 'stand still, don't move boys' picture," another chimed. "The whole family is having so much fun and that is a memory they will all cherish having together for their lives," one commenter said.
