Fans of The CW comic series "Arrow" and "The Flash" received a special gift this week when the network dropped the new full-length teasers for their shows' upcoming seasons, according to TV Line.
The trailer to "Arrow" opens with Oliver (Stephen Amell) jogging in a nice neighborhood and returning home to Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), who has since swapped her tech skills for kitchen skills. Oliver's voice is heard uttering these words in the voice over, "The Arrow's dead. Couldn't be that person even if I wanted to be. And I don't wanna be."
There's a quick flash of the city's honor for Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), who died last season and it is hinted that there's a new threat. "They're Ghosts, like nothing we've ever seen before. Well-trained, well-armed. We need The Arrow," Laurel (Katie Cassidy) tells Oliver.
Meanwhile, there are appearances by new bad guys and former bad guys, and even a brief scene with John Constantine, another DC Comic character. Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) also makes his first appearance in he series. "So you're all fretting about this city dying. I'm here on behalf of an organization that wants you to let it die," Darkh says, while Jessica Danforth (Jeri Ryan) is also introduced as the politician aiming to become the new mayor.
Old faces return to the "Arrow" this season 2, adding to the tension that Oliver has been trying to leave and let go. It doesn't look like Oliver will be living a peaceful life anytime soon based on this teaser.
"Arrow" Season 4 will return to The CW on Wed., Oct. 7, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. according to IGN. Watch the video below.
Meanwhile, the trailer from "The Flash" presents a new character, Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears). Fans should recall that at the end of the first season, the show introduced the concept of parallel universes and this is what will be explored in depth in the second season.
Garrick proceeds to tell the team about the consequences of what happened in last season's finale, which lead to the opening of a portal. This means that more threats are coming to Central City and the as the trailer shows, a new villain, Zoom, will make his appearance.
"The Flash" will return for Season 2 on Oct. 6, Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. according to Zap2It. The trailer to the show is below:
