Henry Hager is the son of former Virginia Republican Party chairman John H. Hager. Jenna Bush Hager first met Henry Hager during her father's presidential campaign in 2004. The couple tied the knot in 2008.
In Dec.2012, Jenna Bush Hager announced the news of her pregnancy on NBC's "Today" show.
"I'm pregnant!" Us Weekly quoted Bush Hager as saying. "We're so excited and obviously nervous about it. I'm a first-time mom. But it's something that I've always wanted. I'm a teacher and I love kids."
The couple had kept the gender of the baby a surprise until birth. In April 2013, while celebrating her baby shower with friends and family members, Bush Hager had revealed her wish to have a daughter.
"I really love the relationship I have with my mother," the 31-year-old told People magazine, "so to have a daughter would be special."
