"Scandal" returns with season five, and the trailer shows a steamy scene between Olivia and Fitz, an alive Huck, and a shocked Mellie.
Hollywood Life reports that while Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) get steamy and take up most of the 30-second trailer video, they're also seen in a formal event where Sally Langston (played by Kate Burton) is heard asking, "Mr. President, what are you hiding?" Nearing the end, Olivia is seen running either toward or away some sort of event.
Also seen is the POTUS giving divorce papers to a surprised Mellie (Bellamy Young), some quick shots of a living Huck (Guillermo Diaz), Abby (Darby Stanchfield) and Cyrus (Jeff Perry).
Den Of Geek reports what viewers can expect in the return of the series.
The entertainment site reports that vital characters have their fates left unknown with the end of the fourth season. However, with character development as the guiding force behind the show, it might be important to see how circumstances can change upcoming new season.
Olivia and Fitz seem to have been reunited. Den Of Geek speculates that if this will be the end of Fitz and Mellie's relationship, then maybe Olivia and Fitz just might go public, although it might also be unlikely. It's likely, however, that the show will give focus on them.
Mellie Grant was seen to have a political side at season four, and although now she is without the White House's and her husband's support, that wouldn't stop her. Den reports that she and Elizabeth might go against each other now that they both have powerful positions.
Huck, whom everyone thought to be reformed, with new moral standards, and away from his assassinating days after being re-introduced to his family, just falls back into it again. Den suggests that he might go one of three ways: he gets deep in killing; he doesn't go too far in the killings but doesn't stop either; or probably he will just end up restraining himself, just like in season one. Or maybe, he would have some major transformations.
Cyrus was seen in the first four seasons to be someone who will go great lengths to make sure Fitz stays as POTUS and him as chief of staff. However, now that he is dismissed, he is seen to be stripped of authority and dignity, and is now left to defend himself.
Fans won't know what exactly happens now for sure, so it will be best to wait for Scandal season five, which will air on Sept. 24.
