"South Park" season 20 will finally make its much-anticipated television premiere on Comedy Central next month. Despite having 19 seasons, one feature film, three music albums and a hit video game, "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone remain unstoppable as they set to release another video game titled, "South Park: The Fractured But Whole," in December.
Deemed as one of the longest running animated television series, "South Park" has been able to offer fresh and interesting plotlines. As for "South Park" season 20, Parent Herald previously hinted the possibility that fans may see their favorite characters slam Taylor Swift, just like what the show did to Swift's frenemy Kanye West when they parodied Kim Kardashian's husband in the 2009 episode titled, "Fishsticks."
Since Comedy Central's hit adult animated series is quite updated on pop culture, it will be not surprising if "South Park" season 20 will highlight some of the current issues such as the "Pokémon GO" craze, Taylor Swift-Kanye West-Kim Kardashian feud, the 2016 U.S. Presidential Elections and the "Free the Nipple" campaign. As a matter of fact, the upcoming season will reportedly feature some mind-blowing episode arcs.
Even though "South Park" season 20 creators have previously revealed that another "Pokémon"-themed wasn't really part of their plans for the upcoming season, they were reportedly considering to feature "pop-up episodes" in the series, Mashable noted. In addition, Ecumenical News revealed the series' creators also hinted the possibility to dedicate an episode or a season for the "Free the Nipple" campaign.
As for the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election plotline, Vine Report revealed that "South Park" season 20 may feature another Donald Trump version after they killed off the series' Trump-inspired character, Mr. Garrison, in season 19. But what's more interesting was the revelation about PC Principal's comeback and the killing Kenny movement in the upcoming season.
Aside from delving into the interesting "South Park" season 20 plotlines, have you ever wondered how the series maintained its popularity for almost two decades? According to The Nerd Recites, the show's success and longevity over the years can be attributed more on the evolution of its episode themes, much-improved animation and unique storytelling technique.
