Celine Dion recently revealed she co-sleeps on a big bed with her 6-year-old twins. The Grammy-winning singer admitted she's still coping with grief, following the death of her beloved husband Rene Angelil over a year ago.
Dion said having the twins Nelson and Eddy by her side provided comfort despite the unusual sleeping arrangement. The kids have their own bedrooms to return to but the mom admitted she needed her twins close.
"I organize myself to not feel lonely," the singer said, as per Mirror. "So I got myself a huge, huge bed and I sleep with my twins." She revealed she's discovering Disney the family watch "a lot of TV" before going to bed.
The mom and her twins also hatched a new bedtime ritual involving their father. "We kiss him every night," she said, as per Cafe Mom. "We say good night to him with a little picture. Then the kids talk to him."
As for the couple's 16-year-old son Rene-Charles, Dion said the teenager shouldn't be pressured to become the "man of the house" at such an early age only because his father died. She told Entertainment Tonight she assumed the role of the leader of the family with her husband gone because her first-born has to chart his own dreams.
Angelil became Dion's manager when she was only 12-years-old but the professional partnership blossomed into a romantic relationship when Dion turned 18 and Angelil was in his '40s. They married in 1994 and conceived their children through IVF.
In 1999, Angelil learned of his throat cancer and started receiving treatments. In 2013, he underwent surgery for cancer but by 2015, his condition deteriorated and the family prepared for the inevitable.
Angelil died on Jan.14, 2016. He was two days shy of his birthday when he passed. He would've been 74-years-old.
