How Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Explains Coronavirus to Their Kids

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin do not want their four kids to hear them discuss the COVID pandemic as much as possible. However, when they do ask, the Baldwin couple gives them direct answers.

The Kids Know About the Coronavirus

Mrs. Baldwin told Us Weekly that their kids know the name and nature of the coronavirus: they know it is a virus, and it is named corona. She also said that their children also understand that the virus is the reason why they are not going to school and why they could not do playdates and go on living their normal lives, and why they are currently staying at home.

The "Mom Brain" podcast co-host also said that their kids know that their parents are making the best decision to make sure that they are safe, and everything is going to be okay.

The "Living Clearly Method" author's advice to parents is to tell their kids about the coronavirus even if it is overwhelming and stresses them out.

The fitness guru adds that when they talk about the topic to their kids, they do not talk about the ugly things because it is no use. She also said that because the kids do not need to make informed decisions now, and the adults need to do so, therefore, it is just right that as parents, they need to be informed. Hilaria finalized and said that their kids need to know enough, but not that much to cause anxiety on them.

They Do Not Talk in Front of Their Kids

On Wednesday, March 25, Alec, 61, elaborated on a virtual appearance on "The Howard Stern Show" that he and his wife "adjourn to another room" when they want to discuss the coronavirus.

The "Saturday Night Live" alum said that they do not talk about "nuts and bolts" in front of the kids. He said that there is no point in contaminating them with fear and so forth. They want their kids to be kids and to enjoy their lives and their days.

The 36-year-old mother added that the kids are smart because they pick up more than what you think they do. She finds it interesting because their kids are not stressed about the issue as long as their parents are not showing signs of stress.

The Baldwin couple told Us Weekly that they have been in contact with Alec's ex-wife Kim Basinger, with whom he shares his 24-year-old daughter, Irene Baldwin.

The former yoga instructor said that Basinger has been good to them. She added that she seems great and is in her house with her dogs and her boyfriend.

Hilaria Shares Their Self-Isolation

Hilaria has been documenting their family's self-isolation through her social media. On her Instagram video of her doing her exercise routine while rehydrating with sparkling water, she added a caption, saying that this new reality right now is complicated and very cooped up. She said that there are still ways to move our bodies while even at home, to help the immune system.

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin share four children, namely Carmen, 6, Rafael, 4, Leonardo, 3, and Romeo, 22 months.
