Julianne Hough is currently self-isolating in L.A. amid the global pandemic while her husband Brooks Laich is self-isolating in Idaho, away from Hough.
Julianne Hough is Enjoying "Me" Time
Hough told Oprah Magazine's Arianna Davis that she is "really enjoying" her time while she is connecting to what is important in her life. She said that being on tour for three months, traveling and starting a business all at the same time is a little bit too much. So now that she can stay at home, she could stop and pause, look inward, and connect back to herself, and it has made her feel glorified.
She added that her husband is doing a lot of yard work in Idaho, so they are doing their stuff separately now. But to her, it has been a magical time to be alone.
Even though Julianne Hough is enjoying being by herself, she admitted to Oprah Magazine that sometimes she would "feel alone" as her husband is not with her, and she also shared that she misses people a lot.
She said that in her 30s, she has always been around people and still trying to do and create a lot of things; however, what she is doing right now is something new and different. She said that she does not feel lonely, but she feels alone.
Hough explained that there is a big difference between the two. She said that she wants to hug people and talk to them, but she is enjoying her alone time as of the moment. Moreover, she is looking forward to the day when the pandemic is over.
Julianne Hough shared that she feels "very blessed" of her life, and she is concerned about the frontline medical staff who are risking their lives to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. She said that she is sending her love, affection, and empathy to the health care workers.
Brooks Laich is Also Enjoying His "Me" Time
With Hough enjoying her alone time, her husband is also feeling the same way as her. The 36-year-old ice hockey player admitted in "How Men Think," his iHeartRadio podcast that he being in Idaho, is an escape from the pandemic. His husky, Koda, is also there to accompany him.
Laich said that his dog Koda is awesomely staying with him. He spends his day outside from 7:30 in the morning to 5 in the evening. He has a significant property - 10 and a half acres - and he has been doing a mass cleaning of it.
He said that he has been building rock walls, clearing bush, chainsawing down trees. Adding to that, he said that they probably have 100-foot tall pine trees that even Koda is fond of, which could be the reason why the road that comes from there is called Tall Pines.
He said that he is practically practicing social distancing in their house because it is situated 15 minutes away from the town, and neighbors live a couple of hundred yards away from him. There are times that he sees them walking their dogs, but that is all there is.
Brooks Laich added that he is introverted by nature, and if not for his dog, he would have been antsy with the isolation. He said that he had always wanted to spend more time in that house and now is the perfect chance.
While Hough and Laich are spending their isolation away from each other, they believe that this is what works best for them. Once the quarantine is lifted, Laich will go back to Los Angeles to be with his wife again.
