The change of name news has confused a lot of people. Some of her followers thought that Schumer named their son "genital" as a joke, while others thought that the comedian did it on purpose to cover up for the real name of her son.

However, during an interview with Howard Stern, Amy Schumer denied her fans' accusations of her and said that people around her are giving her too much credit.

She brought her son with her during the interview and told Stern to not let her son know about the name change. She admitted that it was embarrassing and they have no plans of telling their son know about it.

When Schumer saw people's comments on the name change, she just said that naming their son "genital" was a huge mistake.

A few weeks ago, Amy Schumer announced that she has changed her son's name from Gene Attell to Gene David because she and her husband realized that their son's name sounded like "genital."

In May 2019, the comedian gave birth to her firstborn to husband Chris Fischer and named him Gene Attell to honor her friend Dave Attell, who was her best friend in the movie "Trainwreck."

However, in an episode of "3 Girls, 1 Keith," Schumer said that because her mother pinpointed it, she and her husband accidentally realized that they gave their son a name that sounded like "genital."

So she announced that they are changing their son's name to Gene David, which is like hitting two birds with one stone because it is also the middle name of her dad.

Amy Schumer Plans To Undergo IVF Treatment

During the later part of her interview with Howard Stern, Schumer shared that they are planning to expand their family and they started IVF treatment before the lockdown happened. She said that they readied her embryos and were supposed to start the process, however, COVID happened so they decided to postpone their plans as of the moment.

The "Trainwreck" actress recalled that she had hyperemesis during her first pregnancy which had caused her severe vomiting and nausea all throughout her pregnancy. She said that she could not eat well so she had to be hospitalized for about ten times.

The mom of one added that she was scared during that time because she could not provide enough nourishment for herself and her growing baby. It was just like food poisoning for nine and a half months.

Although she suffered so much during her pregnancy, she said that it really is amazing because once you meet your baby, you would be ready to go through the same sufferings again just to see your baby even for just an hour.
