On Wednesday morning, Amanda Kloots shared on her Instagram story that the health of her husband, Nick Cordero, gets worse after hearing good news earlier this week.
Kloots said on her live video that the 41-year-old star has had a bad morning, and things are going downhill, so she is asking again for all the "mega prayers" right now. She also asked her followers to cheer and pray for her husband, believing that the virus would not get her husband down.
Kloots continued while wiping tears from her eyes and said that it is not how Cordero's story will end, so she is asking everyone to pray for his condition then she said her "thank you" to her fans.
Nick Cordero's lung infection
Late Tuesday, Kloots shared in an Instagram story post that the Broadway star is having problems with an infection on the left side of his lungs. She said that for two days, Cordero's right lung is looking better while the left lung is the same.
She added that the left lung is causing issues that they need to clear, so she asked for the prayers of her followers.
New hashtag #OffTheVent
After being awakened from a medically-induced coma, Cordero is still on a ventilator because of his ongoing lung infection. Hence, Kloots posted on Friday that there is a new hashtag in town, which is called #OffTheVent.
Kloots believes that if the hashtag #WakeUpNick had helped her husband when he was in a coma, this new hashtag would help Cordero with his lung infection. It may not eradicate the infection, but she believes it would make him better so that they could remove his ventilator soon.
Adding to that, she said that they are still dealing with the lingering infection in Cordero's lung after septic shock. The medical team is doing their best to clean it out every day, but it is just not getting any better, according to Kloots.
Nick Cordero is a fighter
She also said that her husband is fighting for his life every day in the intensive care unit, and she believes that Cordero is not going to give up, so they are not giving up too. The only mindset that she has right now is that the infection is going away, and Cordero's ventilator will be removed.
In late March, the "Waitress and Rock of Ages" actor was first admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles when the family thought that he has pneumonia. Kloots shared that her husband has endured many setbacks during the pandemic.
Cordero experienced having an infection that stopped his heartbeat, two mini-strokes, and a leg amputation. On her Instagram, Kloots said that her 41-year-old husband has no pre-existing conditions, so they do not know how he contracted the coronavirus, but he did. On March 31, Cordero went into the ER and got into a ventilator on April 1.
Kloots said that this is the most difficult journey that they had to go through, and she believes that her husband is a fighter, so he will not give up. She also said that the attending doctors and nurses have been incredible.
Currently, Kloots is asking her fans to show their support to her husband by singing and dancing to his "Live Your Life" using the hashtag #OffTheVent. They are also raising funds in a GoFundMe page to pay for Cordero's bills.
