Royal News! Who is Porchey in Queen Elizabeth’s Life?

Royal watchers are on the lookout for the relationship between Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Due to the Netflix series "The Crown," people have been questioning whether Prince Philip has been faithful to the Queen. Rumour has it that the Queen has a relationship with "Porchey."

Who is Porchey?

Peter Morgan, creator of "The Crown," did not mention that the Queen has infidelity issues with the Duke of Edinburgh. Royal fans are curious about her relationship with Porchey. The Telegraph noted that Porchey, or Lord Porchester, is the Queen's childhood friend.

Porchey, or Henry George Reginald Molyneux Herbert, is also fond of horses. He became the Queen's racing manager, so they had traveled together at times. But according to Robert Lacey, a royal historian, their trips were not romantic getaways. He said that Porchey's wife is always with them during trips.

Previously, Lacey told People that the racing manager was a sensitive, quiet man. He just shared the same passion with the monarch.

Sally Bedell Smith, a royal biographer, agreed with Lacey. She said that the two are old friends. She added that they have a very deep bond for the love of horses and nothing more.

Rumors about Prince Philip cheating

Even though there were rumors that Prince Philip had an affair, there is no proof about it being true. A plotline in the second season of "The Crown" caused the rumors to spread. Many reports say that he had an affair with singer Pat Kirkwood.

In October 1948, the two were supposed to have dinner. It was a time when Elizabeth was eight months pregnant with Prince Charles. Kirkwood told Newsweek that she would live a happier and easier life had Philip went home that night.

A report in The Baltimore Sun, via Vanity Fair, said that the prince is involved romantically with a woman. Philip was said to have regularly met with her in the West End apartment of a society photographer.

The palace did not give importance to these rumors, given that the royal couple has been together for seven decades.

Elizabeth has a passion for horses

The Queen is fond of horses until now. She still rides them even if she is already 94 years old. The "Horse & Hound" magazine made a new special edition featuring the royal family and their horses.

Royal head groom Terry Pendry shared his insights. He said that the Queen decided to ride native ponies after she rode Sanction. The reason was that they were closer to the ground. Pendry also noted that the Queen is a "fountain of knowledge" in everything about equine.

The Queen shares with the magazine the eight horses that her family has loved riding through the years. She also shared the five racehorses that they love to watch. Among the eight horses, Burmese is the one she rode in Trooping the Colour parade for 18 years.
