During the holiday weekend, more than 100 shooting incidents were recorded all over the United States. According to a report from CNN, forty-four shooting incidents were reported in New York, while 75 were in Chicago.

Among the victims of these cases of gun violence are at least six children, who got killed. Most of them were bystanders in the places of incidents or were doing something completely unrelated to the incident when they got shot.

These six children are ages six to 14. The incidents happened from the 4th of July until the evening of the following Sunday.

The cases were in San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC, Alabama, and Atlanta.

11-year-old boy from Washington DC

The 11-year-old victim of gun violence in Southeast Washington was only visiting family. He ran out of the car to get a phone charger from the house of her aunt. While running towards the house, his mother saw the 11-year-old duck. The mother thought he was dodging bullets because they heard gunshots. However, the boy no longer moved.

The incident is devastating for the family because the grandfather of the 11-year-old child has been fighting against gun violence.

8-year-old girl from Atlanta

On the night of the 4th of July, an eight-year-old girl was in the car with her mother. They were with another adult. The driver of the vehicle was trying to pull into the parking lot in Pryor Road, Atlanta when suddenly someone opened fire on their car.

Police reports say that there were illegal barricades in the area. These were placed by someone who remains unidentified. Investigation on the case is still ongoing.

8-year-old boy from Hoover, Alabama

The shooting incident of a young boy in Alabama took place in a mall.

He was one of the four bystanders who was caught in a crossfire.

According to the Hoover Police Department, there was a gun battle between a group of men when the eight-year-old boy was accidentally shot.

One suspect has been arrested, according to the police.

7-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy from Chicago

According to a report from CBS Chicago, the seven-year-old girl was playing with her friends on the night of July 4. Suddenly, a group pulled out near them and fired shots at the kids' direction. The innocent girl was shot in the forehead.

It was not the only mass shooting recorded in Chicago on the 4th of July. On that same night, six people were shot in North Lawndale.

In Englewood, four people were killed in a gathering, including a 14-year-old boy.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the death of the six-year-old boy from Bayview was a "senseless homicide."

There are no arrests made yet on the shooting incident. However, the police are determined to bring justice to the case.

Because of the gun violence cases, local officials have been offering rewards to those who could provide relevant information about the incidents.
