Viral Video: Son gets tutorial from his mom on how to braid his daughter's hair

When there is an emergency, more often than not, we call our parents for help. Even when we are all grown up and have kids, our parents could be a call away.

In the case of Jamir Grisby, that includes hair emergencies.

Jamir called his mom for help regarding his daughter's braids. He wanted to learn how to braid his daughter's hair. His mom was very much willing to help.

The tutorial session was filmed and quickly became a viral video.

Asking for help

Jamir intends to learn how to braid his five-year-old daughter's hair because he wants to help his wife.

In an interview with Fox 5, he shared that he already knows how to wash, brush, and put his daughter's hair in a ponytail. So he also thought, learning how to put it into nice locks will be an additional help to his wife.

However, the 27-year-old father thinks braiding a child's hair is too difficult.

That is why he thought of asking for his mom's help.

Tonette, Jamir's mom, happily lent her expertise in braiding hair.

Viral Video: Learning how to braid

In the now-viral video, Amirah sits down as his father brushes her hair.

Amirah's grandmother reminds the little girl to stay still, as Jamir learns how to braid. The eager father was very focused while doing his daughter's braid. As he goes along, Tonette continues to compliment him if he gets the process correctly. Tonette would say, "Yes, you're doing great." She also reminds him of what to do next when things do not seem right.

The viral video, however, did not show if Jamir finished braiding his daughter's hair or if he learned the entire process. Although he also said he would be updating how the braiding tutorial went. The viral video now has more than 1.2 million views.

Dad and daughter bonding

For Jamir, learning how to fix his daughter's hair gave him and Amirah a great deal of time to bond. He also encouraged other dads to do the same. He said, "It should be ok for dads to do their daughter's hair! We have creativity too."

When the 27-year-old father shared his journey to learning how to braid, it appears that a lot of dads are also taking the same road. On Twitter, some of the dads even shared their videos showing how they style their daughters' hairs.

On Instagram, some dads shared that they are inspired by Jamir's drive to learn, so they are going to try it out themselves. One IG user said, "You have given me the inspiration and hope to try this myself!"
