New Jersey Judge Ester Salas' home in North Brunswick Township was attacked by a man last Sunday. This incident resulted in the death of her son and the injuries of her husband.

The FBI is now investigating the incident. They gather information on the gunman who is believed to be wearing a courier company's driver uniform.

Salas home shooting incident

According to reports, the 20-year-old son of Judge Salas, Daniel, was killed during an altercation between him and the gunman. NJ Judge's husband, Mark Anderl, sustained injuries and is currently recovering from surgery.

When the incident happened, the NJ Judge Salas was in the basement of their home.

According to a neighbor of Salas, the incident happened at around five in the afternoon, last Sunday.

Her neighbors described Salas and her family as good-natured. In a report from The New York Times, a neighbor said, "They would do anything for anyone."

In the same report, the neighbor mentioned that they knew that Salas had worries about being in danger, considering the nature of her job, "She had some high-profile cases, and she was always a little concerned."

FBI investigation

Many reports have mentioned that the suspect in the shooting incident was wearing a courier company's uniform. Investigations have not yet proven if the perpetrator is an actual employee or was only disguising as such.

According to CNN, the courier company is aware of the shooting incident and has expressed full cooperation.

There is also no known motive for the crime as there are no reported threats to the NJ Judge.

In a Tweet posted by FBI Newark, they shared the ongoing investigation of the shooting incident that happened at the NJ Judge home.

They have also disclosed that they are looking for one suspect on the incident.

The FBI is gathering all information that they could, asking for the help of the public.

Support to the NJ Judge's family

Government officials in New Jersey have expressed their sympathies toward the NJ Judge Salas' family.

US Senator from New Jersey, Robert Mendez, mentioned in his tweet that he continues to pray for the arrest of the person responsible for the crime committed.

New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy tweeted, "Judge Salas and her family are in our thoughts at this time as they cope with this senseless act."

North Brunswick Mayor Mac Womack also reacted about the incident on Twitter. He said that he would commit to supporting NJ Judge Salas' family in this trying time.
