TikTok has been a platform to showcase the talents of internet users all over the world. It has also become a platform for different ideas.

For 23-year-old Karim Salmen, he chose Tiktok to tell the public about how pressing the coronavirus pandemic is.

According to an article published by BuzzFeed, Karim started to feel sick on July 9. He said, "I threw up all night, and at times I felt like I couldn't breathe."

After a few days, he tested positive of the coronavirus.


Getting the infection

Karim has a pulmonary condition. It is called bronchiolitis obliterans, an ailment that prompts the small airways of the lungs to swell. That is why the 23-year-old was very careful since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak. He mentioned that he has been under quarantine for four months, but he, unfortunately, acquired the coronavirus.

Karim believes that he got the coronavirus from a person close to him. However, he is not very certain about this.

In the series of videos that he has posted on TikTok, the 23-year-old says that even if a person is very careful, they can still get the virus.

The hospital struggles

While at the hospital, Karim shared the struggles that he has been going through. From the moment he was waiting for the tests' results, Karim documented all of these. He also shared with his followers to the kind of procedures he needs to go through.

In his posts, Karim not only shares how difficult his condition is but also reminds the public that the coronavirus pandemic is not a joke.

He said to BuzzFeed, The only way to fight it is if we follow guidelines. ... It really only takes one infected person to spread it to a lot of other people."

Karim already got plasma treatment. In one of his recent posts, he shared that he is already feeling better on his eleventh day at the hospital.

Despite all of the struggles that Karim is going through, he remains positive the entire time.

A lot of his followers are concerned about his condition and wishes that he gets better soon.
