It is nice to have to attend weddings of families and relatives. However, other people attend weddings not because they were cordially invited but because they have other motives.

Wedding crashers go to wedding celebrations to either steal money or gifts. Some people join the event for free food or drinks. While some do so without invites because they want to witness the couple that they know to join as one.

Being aware

One of the easiest ways to identify and eject wedding crashers is by sharing awareness with your family and friends. Let them know that some people do join weddings even without invites to help you lookout. This could help them be aware and take note of anyone that looks suspicious.

A guest list

Having a guest list ready would help you eliminate people who do not belong. You will need a hostess or doorman to welcome your guests and assign tables to the people you invited.

Save the Date

Choose a limited reception spaces

Do not choose a venue that hosts multiple events. Unknown guests attending events from the same venue let them wander into your reception area easily.

Hold smaller wedding receptions

With smaller crowds, it would be easier to monitor who among the people are crashers. Apart from that, you also avoid theft from happening too.

If you think wedding crashers only happen in movies, think again. Some people attend weddings to get revenge on either the bride or the groom. Some still try to win back either of the couples. It would be better safe than sorry. Remember that wedding is an important life milestone — and you don't want it ruined.
