School best friends, Odin Frost and Jordan Granberry, were told that they had two percent chances of survival at birth. Now, they are 18 years old and have graduated from high school.
Doctors thought they would not live long
The two teens suffered brain damage upon birth due to lack of oxygen. They met on the first day of school and have been inseparable since. Some doctors thought that the two children who have special needs would not live very long. The duo proved them wrong by walking on stage to receive their diplomas together.
How they met
Odin and Jordan met at Wayne D. Boshears Center for Exceptional Programs when they were just three. On Wednesday, Odin's dad, Tim Frost, told CBS News that the two were put in the same classroom. Even though both could not speak, they pretty much had the immediate bond. He explained that wherever one was, the other was also there.
Tim said that his wife had preeclampsia when she was pregnant with their son. The doctors had to induce labor and when the baby came out, he was barely breathing. Tim shared that the staff airlifted his son to a NICU in Dallas, and stayed there for two weeks.

Both were in the same NICU
Tim said later they found out that Jordan was also in the same NICU as his son's, only two weeks earlier. Since he did not get enough oxygen to his brain, Odin suffered brain damage. Tim said that they went to different doctors and specialists for the next three years. It was also a time when they heard that their son only had a two percent chance of survival.
Odin's doctors said that he would be in a vegetative state if he did survive his condition. Jordan also suffered brain damage. Doctors told Jordan's mom, Donna, that her son would not live until age seven. Odin and Jordan's parents met at school and have become close ever since.

Two had a special bond
Odin started walking after receiving therapy. Since Jordan has not reached that milestone yet, Odin supports his best friend at all times. He would stand up and push Jordan's wheelchair and stand beside him to defend him. At first, the parents were hesitant to let the two attend graduation due to the pandemic. But since the school was taking precautions and the ceremony would be small, they decided to let the best friend of 15 years walk the stage.

On July 16, the boys crossed the stage to get their diplomas. The photo Odin and Jordan took at the graduation ceremony looked like a recreation of the photo they took on the first day they met. After posting the photos on Reddit, Tim was afraid to see negative comments at first. But when he saw the thousands of good comments, he started crying. The families had a small celebration after the epic graduation day.
My son and his best friend, both told their survival rate would be around 2%, never walk, and live in a vegetative state if they made it past 7 years, both walked the stage and graduated tonight!!!
