The trampoline accident
Last August 30, Mary was playing on her trampoline, unsupervised. She was doing flips when she met the trampoline accident and fell on her head and neck.
At first, Mary only felt she tweaked something. However, after a few hours, the pain that she felt was not going away. Later on, Mary realized that she can no longer move. That is when his dad decided to rush her to the hospital.
Initially, the 13-year-old daughter was placed in a wheelchair, but she soon lost her ability to sit up on her own.
Before the daughter was paralyzed, her mom describes her as an athletic child.
The 13-year-old daughter's condition
After a few tests, doctors discovered that the trampoline accident has caused Mary to have a spinal stroke. The stroke occurred in an area that controls the ability to move the legs and feet.
The 13-year-old daughter was paralyzed and had to stay at the Intensive Care Unit for six days.
According to reports, Mary is now in a rehabilitation hospital. There are no details yet if the paralysis will be permanent; however, since the accident, the 13-year-old daughter has not moved from her chest down.
Recently, Mary can feel when someone is touching her leg or feet. From completely losing her control and feeling at that part of the body, the 13-year-old daughter's family thinks that this is already a big win.
Because the daughter was paralyzed and is continuously undergoing rehabilitation, medical bills are starting to pile. To support Surano and her daughter, a GoFundMe page has been put up by Surano's brother.
As of writing, the goal to gather 100,000 US Dollars has already reached more than 86,000.
