An Indiana couple retires from the grocery where they met, after 100 years of combined service. Becky and Ed Osowski worked at Martin's Super Markets in 1970 and 1969.
They were teenagers when they met, and now they have retired after 100 combined years of service.
Becky is the first to retire, and her husband, Ed, is planning to do the same in the coming months.

The Indiana couple's first years in the grocery store
When Becky was 16 years old, she got hired as the cashier of Martin's. She shared in an interview with WNDU that things were very different then. She recalled how the old register worked during that time, "So the first cash register had a crank on the side or a little hole on the side that you flipped open, you put the crank in it and no power, no problem."
After a few months, the couple met in one of the grocery store aisles.
In 1975, Becky and Ed got married.
Ever since the two worked in the grocery store, they stayed working there until they decided to retire.
In the past, Becky thought of working in another place. However, whenever she talks to other people about how they are unhappy in their jobs, she always decided to stay.
Retiring after several decades
According to Ed, retiring was something that they never thought so much about five years ago. He said, "Five years ago, we didn't even think about it but once it got close, then all [of a] sudden it became, 'You know what? That'd be kind of neat'".
For the Indiana couple, retiring after 100 combined years of service is an accomplishment.
After some years of working at the grocery store, Ed was promoted to the director of produce. This promotion gave him the chance to travel around the world. That is something that he also plans to do with his wife once they have both retired.
Other family members worked at the grocery store.
Aside from the Indiana couple, some of their family members also rendered service to Martin's supermarket. According to reports, their three children also worked there. Not only did the connection stop with the children, because two of their five grandchildren also worked at the grocery store.
This grocery store has become a massive part of the lives of the Indiana couple. Becky says it is a great experience, "It's been a big family experience, lots of friends, lots of customers that have become friends and family."
