Dim the lights

Migraine headaches could be caused by bright or flickering light. Sometimes even your computer screen could cause your head to hurt. Try using blackout curtains or using anti-glare screens on your computer. Wear sunglasses when you are outdoors.

Remove pressure

Too tight ponytail, hat or headband wearing, or even swimming goggles could cause external compression headaches. Try to loosen them to remove the pain.

Have caffeine

Coffee and tea have caffeine that helps ease your headache. Be careful not to drink too much as caffeine withdrawal could also cause headaches.

Avoid chewing

Chewing gums, lips, fingernails, or other objects could hurt your head. Avoid chewing them, and if possible, avoid sticky or crunchy food. Talk to your dentist about a mouth guard if you grind your teeth at night.

Massage yourself

Massaging your temples and neck for a few minutes could ease a tension headache.

Try to relax

Relaxation can help with headaches, so you could try yoga, stretches, or meditation to ease your pain. Talk to your doctor if you have muscle spasms for any physical therapy.

Take ginger

A study proved that ginger could help treat headaches caused by migraines. Try brewing ginger tea or take a supplement.

Exercise

Some people who get headaches may mean that they lack exercise. A study found that adolescents who had too little exercise had caused headaches in them. Have regular moderate workouts at least 30 minutes per day to ease your pain.
